In 1976, David is a young man in a small town when he befriends the beautiful Mystery. He's drawn to her immediately, and they become the best of friends. Soon, though, his feelings of friendship move toward the romantic. He falls in love with Mystery, but to his utter dismay, his own brother soon steals her heart away. To escape the pain of his first lost love, David leaves town. He runs away from home, seeking to prove his independence and strength and get away from any memory of Mystery. However, on his way back, he meets a strange man named Victor and so begins horrors David never could have imagined. He is taken captive and held prisoner by a scoundrel who wants only to torture and destroy. To stay alive, David must escape, but first, he must find the strength within himself to tackle his own demons
