Publisher description
In the period novel Love, Molly: A Tale of Love and War - Partly True, Partly What Might Have Been, Terry is a Michigan farm boy with exciting dreams for the future. The lovely Molly is a new classmate, but he is very shy and cannot approach her. With the Second World War looming, there is no time for the waiting game A shy, impressionistic teenager with an active imagination, high school junior Terry is captivated by the entrance of the new girl into the classroom. Everything from Molly's honest eyes to her honey blonde hair and forthright personality secure his immediate attention. As the months fly by, she also finds herself unable to speak to him, but is drawn to this reticent boy with the startling blue eyes. After graduation, Molly leaves town with her family. She wrote Terry once from New York, but forgot to include her return address. His failure to respond brings her to despair. Over the years, they never lose their feelings for each other. Separately they face the horrors of war, yet each is obsessed with the desire to meet again and express their feelings. After the war, the two now wiser young adults hope against hope that they will meet again. A train wreck, a lost letter, and a benevolent friend contribute to the circumstances that bring about the story's powerful conclusion. About the Author: Jay Jay Baker left the farm in Michigan for college and then joined the Navy, wanting to serve in World War II. He now resides in Tucson and is a technical writer for the military. His next book, The Scent of Lilac, also pursues forbidden teenage love. Publisher's website: www.SBPRA.com/JayJayBaker
