The conclusion is reached that the existing laws on the subject as well as efforts by many world leaders have not been able to protect women's rights adequately. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dr. Nour Mawloud Njeeb Fnish obtained her bachelor's degree in law from Al-Ahliyya University School of Law in Jordan and practiced law before coming to the United States of America to further her studies. She earned both her LL.M. & S.J.D. degrees from Golden Gate University, School of Law specializing in international and comparative law. Presently she is undergoing a post-doctoral internship at the Golden Gate University's Sompong Sucharitkul Center for Advanced International Legal Studies
