Love does not answer to any things made by man. Love is from God. It is a higher calling that cannot be explained away, or categorized. Miriam is a king's daughter. Morgan is a knight from an opposing kingdom. Man-made boundaries hold them apart, but they refuse to disavow their love. After King Justus discovers Morgan's true identity, Morgan is banished from the kingdom forever, severing him from his love. Miriam awaits Morgan's return, enacting a vow of silence against her father. Morgan wages a secret battle to return to the love of his life, and Miriam is forced to go head-to-head with her father, the king. But will it matter? Can love triumph against the recklessness of man? ---------------------------------------------------------- EXCERPT FROM BOOK The horses were all purely white from snout to tail. He had never seen such a thing in his entire life, and he was a knight, a man of horses. It was spectacular. He walked up to a particular stall and reached into a canvas sack hanging from a nail. He offered the horse some oats, and it ate them gratefully. He looked into the horse's eyes and saw only kindness. He unknowingly had a thought that Miriam often had while looking into the eyes of her father's horses. Why couldn't men be more like horses? There are no dishonest, hateful horses. In their eyes is only a brightness, an intelligent love, a wonder at why their masters behave the ways in which they do. He patted the horse kindly on the head. He put his hands on his waist and made to walk out of the stables. He supposed that if the angel who healed him wasn't around, he would have to leave and head home. Still, he wished he could see her one more time. His memory of her was hazy, but in it she was incomparably beautiful, with doe eyes and a nose that came to an elegant point as she hovered over him. It was almost as if it had been a dream. The bandages on his side were his only assurance that it had been real. That was when he heard the singing and he knew his angel had not left him entirely. AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a 8, 000 word stand-alone story with an HEA, so no cliff-hangers! Story contains mature themes and language, and is intended for 18+ readers only
