A tragic life story of the physical abuse suffered at the hands of a drunken abusive husband. She lived in fear of his sexual abuse, and used to wander the streets at nights and the early hours half dressed after escaping his clutches in fear for her life. He used mental abuse and rape in the marriage to control her everyday life. In the early seventies there was no such thing as a 'refuge' (a safe house), for battered women, and the police treated any complaints as a simple 'Domestic' dispute, the abusive partner was either given a good talking to or at worse a night in the cells to calm down. When the children came along things went from bad to worse, and when she finally broke free she still suffered harassment when he would come to her house in the early hours drunk and abusive. Family activities, and tragic memoirs, of a woman who eventually found peace from domestic violence. It includes memories of following later relationships some good and some bad from her twenties to the present day. From tragedy to joy, good times and bad, and of the realization that there were no second chances in life after losing her brother, so she decided to make a bucket list of things to accomplish before her arthritis got any worse.
