This right hand record and ready reference, which made its debut last year, met with such a cordial and favorable reception, that I feel warranted in issuing a new and revised edition. Loading advertisers have used it with such acceptance that the burden of their letters is, we do not know how to get along without it. I am therefore fully justified in repeating the assertion I made in the opening paragraph last year: That it will occupy a position of honor and confidence with every one who is at all systematic in advertising, is without doubt, and a single glance will convince any one of its utility. N 0 time or expense has been spared to make this as near perfect as human works can be, and I feel sure that it stands to-day the most com plete record of the newspapers of the whole world, in existence.
Circulations. As before, circulations have been carefully sifted from the best informed sources, and, in placing several large advertising contracts during 1879 (which went into nearly every paper in the United States), I made special effort to obtain from the publishers accurate state ments of circulation.
