Stricken down suddenly by the hand of death, no opportunity was afforded for them to pass under the revision of her own hand; but they are given in the best form in which they could be arranged, as a memorial to her friends, and with the hope and belief that they will promote the cause of Christ. The reader should understand that the articles were written at different periods, and this will account for any little discrepancy that may appear, in describing the condition of the Church.
