Publisher description

I am Frank M. Ahearn, an internationally known privacy expert who teaches people how to disappear and create digital deception to protect ones privacy. I am also the author of three books, How to disappear, The Digital Hit Man and The Art & War of Publishing.

My first book How to Disappear, I sold directly to Penguin Australia and negotiated a 10k advance, without using a literary agent. I repeated the process and sold How to Disappear to Lyons Press for a 28.5k advance. I kept the repetition going and sold my book to several foreign publishers accumulating nearly 50k in advances. How to Disappear has been selling strong at 100 to 150 books a week and is one of Lyons Press top selling book on Amazon.

When I began writing my second book I sold it to Lyons Press for a 38k advance. I became disenchanted with the publishing process and disgusted by the 17.5% royalty an author receives on book sales. Believe it or not, I backed out of my publishing deal and decided to self-publish my second book The Digital Hit Man, which is quickly catching up to its big brother How to Disappear in sales.

It is important I say that I dislike most how to books because I think the majority are just the get rich quick types. The truth is if your book sucks you are not going to sell many copies. However, if you have a good book you do have the option to sell to a publisher or go the self-publishing route. In The Art & War of Publishing I share my experiences and explain how I by passed the ancient ritual of using a literary agent and then the ancient ritual of using a publisher to get my books published. The most important information I explain is my total war concept of building a brand and marketing a book to success.

I believe that the act of repetition can create success, the trick is to know which acts to repeat. That is my sales pitch, good luck with your book
